Originally from Apex, North Carolina, Ashlynn completed her early years of training at The Academy for the Performing Arts before receiving her BFA in dance at NYU Tisch School of the Arts in May 2023. She studied under the direction of Pamela Pietro and Sean Curran with mentors such as Indah Walsh, Kayla Farrish, Chalvar Montiero, Jamie Thompson, and Jeremy Nelson. While at Tisch, she had the opportunity to perform an original work titled No Subtext by Sidra Bell as well as Trisha Brown’s Working Title, restaged by Patrick McGrath and Amanda Kmett’Pendry. Ashlynn has performed at Radio City Music Hall where she danced in Gary McCall’s Why am I not Having Fun?. Currently, Ashlynn is performing as a soloist and company member in Caroline Lewis Jones’ Unbound Dance Company as well as working as a Professional Assistant for Adrenaline and Revive Dance Conventions. Most recently, she performed alongside chuthis. at Perry Mansfield in Steamboat Springs Colorado.
Ashlynn has furthered her dance training through summer/winter programs such as RUBBERBAND DANCE Winter and Summer Sessions, David Dorman Dance Winter Intensive, B12 Summer Main Event, The Juilliard School Summer Dance Intensive, and Vim Vigor Summer and Winter Sessions. She has worked closely with artists including Peter Chu, Chelsea Thedinga, Ashley Lindsey, Jenn Freeman, and Victor Quijada.
Ashlynn has a strong passion for sharing the knowledge she has acquired throughout her journey with dancers of all ages and experience levels. She works closely with numerous dance studios across the US, teaching master classes as well as setting choreography for showcases and competition. Currently she is on weekly faculty at Lambarri Dance Arts 1 and 2. Class focuses on exploring the physicality of movement, the relationship of the body to the environment as one moves into and out of the floor, and the animalistic qualities which aid in movement efficiency. Enjoying the process is Ashlynn’s number one goal, and through intense physical training, reflective conversation, and constant exploration, she hopes to share these ideas and continue her explorations alongside the dance community.
